2022 COACH OF THE YEAR

Carly Sienkiewicz - Forest Hills Northern

Carly is heading into her 8th year coaching at Forest Hills Northern and her 6th year as Head Coach. Carly joined the FHN coaching staff as the JV coach during their first year breaking off a co-op team and took over the program for the 2017-2018 year. During her time at Northern, she has helped the program to steadily improve, with the past 3 years recording their schools highest program scores, first Conference wins, and two runs in the post-season tournament.

 

This past season recorded a historic year for her team, throwing tucks in Round 2 for the first time, winning both Conference and District Championships, and qualifying for the Division 2 State Finals for the first time since 1998. Prior to coaching, Carly was a Staff Member for 4 years and then Director for 2 years at Cheer! Michigan.

Additionally, Carly has served on the CCCAM Board for the past 4 years, serving as the All-State Director, Summit Co-Chair, and currently Region 1 Representative.

 

Outside of cheerleading she is a Supply Chain Lead at Steelcase and lives in Grand Rapids with her fiancé, Alex, and their two cats, Milo and Enzo. She loves helping the sport of Competitive Cheer advance, watching teams progress over the years, and connecting with other coaches.

2022 ASSISTANT COACH OF THE YEAR

Jenny Klein - Grandville

Jenny cheered at Grandville 7-12th grade. Julie Smith-Boyd was her high school Varsity Cheer Coach. She was a two-time Champion Cheerleading Camp Champ in high school and was a Champion Cheerleading summer camp staff member for 8 years where she went on to be a director her last year.

 

Jenny coached Grandville 7th and 8th grade teams for one year right after graduating high school then coached at the Grandville High School level, coaching the JV team for eight years and the Freshmen team simultaneously as well for five of those years.

 

Jenny had a 10-year coaching break to start a family and then got back into coaching at Grandville where she has been assistant coaching their Varsity since 2008 through the present.

 

Outside of Cheerleading, Jenny has been married to her husband Jeff for 25 years. They have two boys, Jayson 22 and Brendan 18. She works in the field of social work as a pregnancy counselor for Bethany Christian Services.
